Satheesh Gopi has over 19 years of experience as ahydrographer and over fi ve years of experience as a civil engineerand is currently the deputy director in the Hydrographic SurveyWing of the Kerala Port Department. He graduated in civilengineering from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, and alsoholds a Masters Degree in Information Technology. He is the authorof books such as Advanced Surveying and Global Positioning System, Principles and Applications. He has published research papers onsurveying, GPS and hydrography. He is a life member of the IndianCartographic Association. His areas of interest include marineconstruction, advanced surveying, GPS and hydrography.
