Compiling clinical anatomy is indeed an exciting exercise but it has its own limitations. To start with for the first MBBS student who has not been initiated into clinical subjects appreciating the basis of anatomical aspects for a particular condition leaves much to be conveyed by the faculty. The approach and emphasis by an anatomist on a clinical matter requires subtle method of highlighting the underlying anatomical concept for the clinical condition. For the final MBBS student the emphasis is more on the clinical aspect while the anatomical concept remains unexplored or ill-understood. Here again the faculty has to match the two e.g. the anatomical concept and the clinical condition. Clinical Anatomy is an effort to stimulate the students and the faculty alike to understand and appreciate the relationship between anatomical facts and its clinical relevance.
