    Description

Springer Computed Tomography of the Pituitary Gland With a Chapter on Magnetic Resonance Imaging 1st Editon 2012 Softbound by Jean-Francois Bonneville, F. Cattin, Jean-Louis Dietemann

The present volume is the results of 6 years' work by our team, during which time 2300 CT scans of the pituitary region were carried out. This was made possible by the close collaboration between physicians and technicians in our neuroradiological department, as well as by numerous corresponding physi cians. We wish to express our gratitude for their confidence and our sincere thanks to our colleagues at Besan90n, Dijon, Grenoble, Lyon, Montpellier, and Strasbourg. Furthermore, we especially wish to thank the patients who willingly accepted the difficult requirements of these studies. We are grateful to the technicians at the Neuroradiology Department of the Centre Hospitalier et U niversitaire de Besan90n, who have perfected the methodology so as to meet the ever increasing imperatives for precise anatomical mapping of the pituitary gland and the surrounding region; without their efforts, this book would never have been possible. Finally, we wish to express our thanks to the medical photographer of our group, as well as the secretarial staff for their contribution to the successful production of this work. We thank Labora toires Guerbet and General Electric for their excellent assistance, and Springer Verlag for their care and competence in the production of this book. In writing Computed Tomography of the Pituitary Gland, we have sought to develop morphological study of the pituitary gland to a degree of reliability comparable to that of laboratory findings in endocrine disorders. 1 Technical Aspects.- 2 Radiologic Anatomy of the Sellar Region.- 3 Dynamic CT of the Pituitary Gland.- 4 Pituitary Adenomas with Suprasellar Extension.- 5 Prolactin-Secreting Pituitary Adenomas.- 6 Prolactinomas and Dopamine Agonists.- 7 Pituitary, Prolactinomas, and Pregnancy.- 8 Growth-Hormone Secreting Pituitary Adenomas.- 9 ACTH-Secreting Pituitary Adenomas.- 10 Rare Pituitary Adenomas.- 11 Pituitary Adenomas: Spontaneous Evolution — Complications.- 12 Rare Intrasellar Disorders.- 13 The Empty Sella Turcica.- 14 CT of the Sellar Region After Surgery and/or Radiotherapy.- 15 The Pituitary Stalk.- 16 Suprasellar Pathology.- 17 Parasellar Pathology.- 18 Picture Problems.- 19 Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Sellar and Juxtasellar Region.
