This book is meant for the first year engineering students. It contains eight units in which the subject matter is presented systematically in a lucid language to make it easy to understand. About 300 examples are solved systematically in S.I. units without omitting any step. To enable the students to test their understanding of this subject more than 200 unsolved problems and about 250 multiple choice questions with answers have been given at the end of each unit. Steam tables are provided in the Appendix.
About the Author
Mahesh Kumar is Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Haryana, India. He served as lecturer at P.D.M. College of Engineering, Bahadurgarh for about 2 years and 3 months. He has supervised more than ten M. Tech. dissertations. He has to his credit more than thirty-five research papers in international and national journals and conferences. His current fields of research are heat transfer, thermal engineering, energy conversion, energy conservation, and solar energy.
