K Subramanya’s Engineering Hydrology 4th Edition is a comprehensive book for Civil Engineering undergraduates. The book consists of 10 chapters which explain the various concepts of hydrology from beginner levels. In addition the book also contains several multiple choice questions based on various competitive examinations which help the student understand the concepts.
About the author:
Dr. K. Subramanya is a retired Professor of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He was also Head of the Civil Engineering Department at IIT Kanpur for a period of 3 Years.
Prof. Subramanya obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Mysore University and a Master's degree from the University of Madras, India. Further, he obtained another Master's degree and Ph. D degree from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He was teaching at IIT Kanpur for over 30 years and has extensive teaching experience in the area of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering.
Prof. Subramanyahas authored several successful books for McGraw-Hill Education (India):His books include Flow in Open Channels (4th Ed.,McGraw Hill Education (India),2015), Engineering Hydrology (4th Ed., McGraw Hill Education (India), 2013), Hydraulic Machines (McGraw Hill Education (India), 2013), Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machines- Problems and Solutions (McGraw Hill Education (India), 2011).
Dr. Subramanya has published over eighty technical papers in national and international journals and conferences. He is a Fellow of the institution of Engineers (India); Fellow of Indian Society for Hydraulics, Member of Indian Society of Technical Education and Member of Indian Water Resources Association.The Indian Society for Hydraulics has conferred the Prof. R.J. Garde Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof. Subramanya in 2012 for his contribution in education and research related to Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Engineering.
