The book has focused on the peculiar problems that an Indian Army soldier faces from the time of recruitment till post retirement stabilization. Keeping in mind the contours of the organization, various job profiles and skill sets within the Army have been individually reviewed. This set piece treatment has resulted into drawing out relevant parallels of their in-service training with civil skill sets. It has further led to the need and definition of empowerment in this context. A road map and structure has been recommended for empowering the individual through organizational initiatives. Finally, a framework model has been evolved as relevant to the present environment that shall aid in achieving empowerment of soldiers in their post retirement ventures.
