This is a story about the entangled lives of a fisherman’s family in a liberated Goa. Just like any common man, Pedro struggles to make his daily ends meet.
His childhood like any other has its own share of grief and joy, family members; some loving and some annoying. He hates going to school and thus ends up doing odd jobs for meagre wages. His youth has its’ own share of love and rejections. When he settles down with a homely girl, approved by his family, responsibilities convert his living an existence without ambitions.
A father of four, Pedro’s loses one of his child in an accident. His wife succumbs to illness, when he needs her the most. His children disrespect him. They break the traditional barriers and accept new occupations and responsibilities. Two children move away from the village to settle in new places. His family grows along with his woes. His best friend is murdered leaving Pedro hallucinating and fearing for his life.
How an alcoholic Pedro survives in his old days lonely, penniless and neglected is a story that will capture the readers in their own emotional nets.
Pedro’s life is a mirror to our own lives entangled in the thick or thin nets of our own choice. It is about how we as human beings chose to look and live life in a different aspect, either simple or complicated.
