Rawat Publications Indian Social System by Punia Deep
Indian Social System is a commentary on the Indian society and its changes and developments over the ages.
Summary Of The Book
The Indian society is structurally very complex. Many sub societies co-exist in the macrocosm of the Indian society. The Indian society is an intersection of the people of a large number of classes, castes and religions. Although, the country is divided into States according to linguistic differences. Yet, people speaking different languages, having different religious beliefs and different lifestyles co-exist beside each other in the same city, village, town or public space. In this way, India is a unique country and Indians are united inspite of their diversity.
Ram Ahuja’s book Indian Social System analyzes the different people who are part of the Indian society by analyzing the relationships between them, analyzing the boundaries of each class and their functions in society.
A lot of violence has been perpetrated due to differences. Traditional social systems were thought to be irrelevant to the new societies. However, the Indian society has embraced both the traditional and the modern. It is a society which exists simultaneously in a number of time periods. Indian Social System addresses the Indian society which is in the process of changing. It looks at the trends followed by the many types of Indian societies and predicts the future directions that the Indian society can take.
