Description
WILEY INDIA Information Storage & Retrieval by Robert R. Korfhage
This book covers the theory and practice of modern information storage and retrieval, with an emphasis on more recent advances in the field. In addition, because information retrieval has in recent years been done more by "regular" individuals and less by information specialists, the book's focus is on how to design and build systems that will be effective for the user (i.e. less arcane types of search techniques will save time for the user), while still providing the information in the format most easy to use for the user. Additional topics covered include privacy and the freedom of information, the requirements of a networked environment, and user profile modeling.
