    This book is a unified engineering treatment of mechanical, electrical, fluid, and thermal dynamic systems their idealized models, response, and analytical description. It is intended to meet the growing need for interdisciplinary courses dealing with systems in engineering curricula, and it is flexible enough to be suitable for a variety of such courses. Salient Features Two-port elements, such as transformers and transducers, are included in both specific and general fashion. An entire chapter is devoted to the subject of modeling. A complete discussion of ways of checking analytical work is included (Section 8-6.5). Linear graphs are used to formulate equations as well as to visualize the structure of systems. Exponential response is used to develop the concepts of system functions, poles and zeros, and is later shown to be equivalent to the use of the Laplace transform.
