Knowledge of Medicinal Chemistry is not only important to a pharmacist’s role as a member of the health care team, but also essential to the pharmacist’s specific knowledge about chemistry and therapeutic value of medicines and other ingredients for health care professionals. A huge number of text books as well as plenty of material on internet are available for the undergraduate students but there is still lacking of concise, easy learning and examination oriented matter. This book is an outcome of my vision to find out the best concise matter of Medicinal Chemistry for B. Pharm, Second Year, IV Semester students as per the revised syllabus of the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and other universities following PCI syllabus. This subject deals with the history and development of medicinal chemistry along with physiochemical properties in relation to biological action. This subject is designed to impart a fundamental knowledge on drug acting on Central nervous system and autonomic nervous system, included adrenergic neurotransmitters, adrenergic antagonist and cholinergic neurotransmitter. It facilitates the students to understand the subject more easily and interestingly.This text book of Medicinal Chemistry is presented in five units. The subject matter has been presented in a well-spoken, comprehensive and systematic manner which is easy for better understanding and also to develop writing ability for students to score good marks in upcoming examination.
