The book is suitable for practicing neurosurgeons as well as residents who are the backbone of any neurosurgical teaching program. The chapters have been contributed by experienced neuroscientists and critical care experts. Each chapter is based on the critical care aspects of a particular domain like trauma, pediatric neurosurgery, vascular neurosurgery, and the like. The experts have painstakingly curated the chapters and given a working suggestion of dos and don’ts.

    Manas Panigrahi, MCh, FACS, is Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and Head of Department of Neurosurgery, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad, Telangana, India. He has set up one of the oldest comprehensive epilepsy centers of India at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and KIMS. His honors and awards include Young Neurosurgeon Award, Kyoto, Japan; International Paediatric Neurosurgeon, Salt Lake, USA; and numerous Travel Awards from the ISPN Congress held in Rome and Australia. He has authored more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, reviews, chapters, and invited editorials. Dr. Manas actively contributes toward literature in neurosurgery using technology to assist neurosurgeons achieve better outcome and reduced complications. His contribution to education and training has been acknowledged by the Neurological Society of India and he has been appointed as Chairman of its Educational Committee.
    Suchanda Bhattacharjee, DNB, is an Additional Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, Telangana, India for the past 15 years. After qualifying her MBBS, she did a direct 5 years neurosurgery from the same institute where she is currently serving. Dr. Suchanda is a general neurosurgeon with special interest in pediatric neurosurger and epilepsy surgery. She is an executive member of the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery and was the past executive member of Indian Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. She has many indexed publications to her credit and is a regular examiner for neurosurgery MCh and DNB students.
    N. Muthukumar, MCh, is Head, Department of Neurosurgery, Devadoss Hospital, Madurai, and former Professor and Head, Department of Neurosurgery, Madurai Medical College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. He has 91 publications to his credit in international and national journals with an h-index of 23 (Scopus) and has co-edited books on Pitu tary Apoplexy, Practical Neurosurgery, and three volumes of Progress in Clinical Neurosciences. He has given over 250 conference presentations. He is a member of seven international and eight national societies. He is a reviewer for national and international journals.
