About Author:-
L.Prakash artificial hip joints in 1988. He has trained under, and worked with pioneer hip surgeons of the world like Mr MAR Freeman,Mr Maurice Muller,Mr M.Wroblowski,Mr Peter Ring,Mr Ian Young,Mr W Boyle, etc. He has also conducted studies and collaborated on hip designs of implants for Asian patients.
Dr L.Prakash was the first to design and manufacture “Made in India” affordable total hip implants, way back in 1993. He introduced the Madras Modular Hip,Prakash universal hip instrumentation set, Prakash cement removal system and Prakash self retainers. He also has the distinction of designing India's first silicone moulded dies for intraoperative cement spacer fabrication, and a cabling system for peri-prosthetic fractures.He has introduced a new surgical procedure PFO (Prakash Fibular Osteotomy) as an alternative for TKR in select patients,and a revolutionary and easy method or reducing shoulder dislocations.
He is also an inventor, designer, artist,magician, zoologist with interest in reptiles,an author who has written 110 books, and above all a passionate orthopaedic teacher, who is revolutionising orthopaedic teaching in India,by his books, surgical videos,audiobooks,and workshops.His two other books: and have
