Dr. Saumitra Mohan is a member of the Indian Administrative Service of 2002 batch and belongs to the West Bengal cadre. He is presently posted as the District Magistrate, Burdwan, West Bengal. Before entering the IAS, he had worked as an Assistant Regional Director with the Indira Gandhi National Open University, as an Assistant Professor in Political Science with Meerut University and as a journalist with the Press Trust of India.
