This is the first edition of the book “Self-Ligation - The Magic Bracket In Orthodontics”. The driving force that let me author this book was the eagerness on the part of graduating dentist and post graduate orthodontics, to know more about self ligation brackets. Orthodontics is a dynamic field with changes occurring at a rapid pace. It has proved itself to be much more than a cosmetic field of dentistry. A recent interest in the bracket morphology and design features has proved that orthodontics is a specialization that need more than what is available. Orthodontics is also keen to adapt new technology to aid in treatment mechanics and patient comfort, with the same time reducing chair side time. The new technology and simple mechanics have removed many of the limitations of orthodontic treatment. The rapid improvements and advances place a tremendous pressure on the authors bring the latest advancement through the book. It has been my endeavour to bring to you the advancement in bracket design and mechanics. An effort has been made to improve the overall quality of the illustrations, that have been painstakingly redrawn and enhanced using the latest available software. A number of photographs is also added to enable easy understanding of the subject.
