Description
Wiley India Steel Tables With Plastic Modulus Of I.S. Sections, 3Rd Edition by K V Pramod and S S Bhavikatti
Though determining plastic modulus of section assuming the section to consist of rectangular parts are within the reach of a design engineer, but as Indian Rolled Steel Sections consist of sloping flanges, fillets at junctions and rounded edges are slightly complex. The authors have considered all the complexities in the shapes of Rolled Steel Sections and have determined Plastic Modulus of Steel Sections for I-beams, Channels, Tee-sections, Equal and Unequal Angle sections, I-beams with cover plates on both flanges and I-beams with Channel section on the upper compression flange (for Gantry Girders). Besides this buckling class of the sections in bending and axial compression are also provided.
About the Author
Dr. S.S. Bhavikatti served NITK in different capacities like Head of Civil Engineering Department, Chairman, Centre for Continuing Education, Chairman Central Computer Centre and Dean (Administration). From November 2001 to November 2005, he served at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad. He then served RYMEC, Bellary as Principal upto September 2007. Presently he is working as Emeritus Professor at BVB College of Engineering and Technology. He has published 61 technical papers and 28 books.
K.V. Pramod joined S.D.M. College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Civil Engineering Department in 1988 as lecturer and is presently working as Professor, at the same Institution. He has handled several Structural subjects for both under graduate and post graduate classes and has been handling Steel Design and related subjects at both the levels for the past several years, even before the Limit State Design method for Steel Structures was introduced into the curriculum of Civil Engineering
