About The Author
Kartik Syal, MBBS, MD, is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical care and Pain Mana~ment, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. He has been instrumental in running the pain management services at the institute. He has more than 10 years of teaching experience and has received training in pain management services and interventions from the Mount Nittany Health Pain Management Center, State College, Pennsylvania, USA. Dr Syal has bestowed with the prestigious "Pride of Himachal" award for his exemplary services to the State. He has numerous chin national and international books and articles in reputed journals to his credit. He has also delivered lectures, chaired sessions, and been a panelist in many conferences and has also organized numerous CMEs and workshops. Constant learning and teaching is his passion and he is presently pursuing two ICMR research projects. His motto in anesthesia practice is to maintain normal physiology and prevent oligoanalgesia (especially in pediatric patients).
