Over the last few decades, immunology has seen unprecedented growth in terms of discovery and inventions. The book, Textbook in Immunology' is an attempt to introduce undergraduate students of Zoology, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biosciences, Medicine and Veterinary Sciences to basic immunology and also to apprise them with the latest developments in the field. An attempt has been made to give complete coverage to all the key topics in immunology without excessive detail or abstract theoretical discussions. The aim of the book is to make the study of immunology accessible yet interesting for the learners.
About the Author
Hardeep Kaur has been involved in teaching immunology since 2005, when the course was first introduced at Undergraduate level at the University of Delhi. The author holds a doctorate degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Delhi. Currently, along with undergraduate teaching, the author is actively doing research and is supervising doctoral scholars in the field of fungal biology, mainly working with nosocomial pathogenic fungi and evaluating antifungal pharmacodynamics of novel candidate drugs.
Ravi Toteja is at present the Officiating Principal of Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi. He has a vast teaching experience. He has been teaching immunology to UG students since 2005. He is actively involved in research and has a number of research papers in International and National Journals. He has also been awarded with the Meritorious Teachers' award by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Seema Makhija has been teaching UG students since 1998. She teaches Immunology, Biochemistry and Evolution to UG students. She is a prolific researcher and has publications in various journals of International and National repute. She has been the recipient of the Distinguished Teachers' award from the University of Delhi and the Meritorious Teachers' award by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
