Description
John Wiley Unsaturated Soil Mechanics by Lu N
Soil Mechanics is the study of how soils respond to a variety of forces, including gravity pressure, hydrological pressure, shear forces and other types of deforming pressure. It is a fundamental requisite to a wide variety of engineering applications, including foundation design and construction, earthworks construction, mining engineering, tunneling, dredging and drilling. Traditional ("Saturated") soil mechanics is based on a universal assumption: that soil is either completely full of fluid (air and water) or completely empty of it.
