The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India level examination for engineering graduates aspiring to pursue Master’s or Ph.D. programmes in India. The Public Sector Undertakings (PSU’s) also use GATE used as a recruiting examination. The examination is highly competitive, and the GATE score plays an important role in fulfilling the academic and professional aspirations of the students. This book is aimed at supporting the efforts of GATE aspirants in achieving a high GATE score. The book comprises previous years’ (2000 to 2018) GATE questions in Civil Engineering covered chapter-wise with detailed solutions. Each chapter begins with a detailed year-wise analysis of topics on which questions are based and is followed by listing of important formulas and concepts for that chapter.
About the Author
Dr. Mahesh Mungule is currently working as Assistant Professor at Institute
of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management (IITRAM), Ahmedabad. He obtained his B.E. in Civil and Water Management Engineering from SGGS University, Nanded, and further continued his studies to earn PhD in Structural Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Before opting for PhD, he briefly worked for construction company (CCCL, Chennai) in the capacity of Engineer—Planning Engineering.
Dr. Rahul Deshpande is currently working as Associate Professor in National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Pune. He received his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur and earned his Masters and PhD degree from University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He has taught courses at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels at UMass Lowell as an Adjunct Faculty. Further, he has worked as Engineer-Projects at HPCL, Mumbai Refinery, before getting interested in research and academics.
