Ambedkar was born on 14 April, 1891 at Ambavade in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. He was the fourteenth child of Ramji Sakpal. An untouchable by birth he suffered bitter humiliation. He studied in India and abroad, acquired highest qualifications and became the first minister for law in free India. On 14 October, 1956, Ambedkar with his wife, embraced Buddhism and died soon after on 6 December, 1956. He was a deep scholar, a determined fighter and human to the tips of his fingers. Aim of the book is to make available to our readers some of the interesting and innovative material on the life story of this great son of India. Attempt is also made of compile scholarly essays on good and great work he carried out for a casteless and healthy Indian society.
