    Description

Our Knowledge Publishing Drug Addiction In Adolescents 2021 Edition by Katerine Sacoto Quinteros

The present investigation was carried out in the BASIC HOSPITAL of DURAN, in the city of Duran, Province of Guayas, in the area of Investigation where the data was obtained from the AS-400 system, concluding on the basis of the results obtained that there was a predominance of the male sex in relation to the female and the greatest cases occurred in the age between 13-15 years. It was also found that most of those affected came from the urban-marginal sector, were students and had a low to medium social status, and had already presented several previous episodes of drug use and had not sought help.It was determined that most of them were admitted to the hospital for acute intoxication, followed by abstinence syndrome and finally dependence syndrome. Therefore, it is important to strengthen continuing education plans and psychological support in public and private schools and colleges, to family members and adolescents for the prevention of indiscriminate substance abuse and its functional and organic repercussions, as well as the timely identification by parents or family members of warning signs in order to avoid fatal cases.
