The present book introduces the various facets of pre-Islamic Arabia, with special focus on tribal settlements, religious practices, political formations, social structures, economic conditions and trade networks compiled in six chapters. Some of the important aspects like the origin, expansion and consolidation of Muslim empire under Prophet Muhammad and His Successors; illustration of the changing nature of Islamic Caliphate under Muawiyah I and especially from Abdul Malik bin Marwan; the consolidation of empire and thereafter the reformation brought under the Abbasid Caliphate Al-Mansur, political and social milieu of Arabian Peninsula before Islam, and growth of Islam and Islamic state in Medina under Muhammad. All had been vividly covered by the author. A.M. Khan is an eminent scholar of Muslim history and ethnography. He did Ph.D. from Calcutta University, Kolkata on Chakma Tribe of Bangladesh. He has published several research papers in journals of national and international repute. He also participated in National and international seminars and symposiums. He worked as a Professor of History in Rajashahi University, Bangladesh.
