    Description

Our Knowledge Publishing Evaluation Of Financial Accessibility To Care In The Health District Of Tanganyika 2021 Edition by Oger Mulange Kapembwa

In our work we focus specifically on issues of affordability of care in the Kiambi Health Zone. To achieve this, a survey was conducted on a sample of 280 households in the Kiambi health zone in 13 of the 26 health areas. Our work led to the following results: -All the 280 households we surveyed reported having had a case of illness in the household during the two weeks prior to the survey. The average daily disposable income of the household is estimated at 285 Fc or $0.4, the average household size is estimated at 7.6 persons and the average cost of the illness episode is estimated at 8465 Fc or $9.4. -The contributory share of the state is low and represents about 9.3% of all support received by the Health Zone. -The results of the econometric analyses presented in this study show that the age of the head of household, the size of the household, and the pricing of care services are significant in explaining accessibility to health care. -The probability of accessing health care is estimated at 73%.
