Chinmoy Roy MD, FIPP started his medical carrier from Silchar Medical College, Assam (MBBS). Then it continued through Gauhati Medical College (MD, Anesthesia), All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (residency) and many other renowned organizations. Approximately 10 years back, he gained preliminary knowledge of ‘pain medicine’ from Dr Gautam Das and Dr GP Dureja. In 2011, he successfully cleared the international certification of FIPP conducted by World Institute of Pain, after which he has continued to work as a pain physician in various national and international hospitals. He has delivered lectures as faculty in multiple national and international conferences of different medical specialties. He has been Associate Executive Editor of Indian Journal of Pain. As a supporter of multidisciplinary, multimodal treatment, he is closely associated with multiple national and international organizations of neurology, rheumatology, sports medicine, physical medicine and pain medicine. In the field of pain medicine, he has multiple national and international indexed journal publications. Apart from this book, he contributed as an editor in two other books earlier. He has been a trainer for the “pain fellowship” courses of Daradia: The Pain Clinic and Hospital, Kolkata, India.
Gautam Das MD, FIPP is the President of Indian Society for Study of Pain (2018-2019). He is editor-in-chief of Journal of Recent Advances in Pain (www.jorapain.com). He has been the chief editor of Indian Journal of Pain from 2012 to 2016. He is the Director of Daradia: The Pain Clinic and Hospital, Kolkata, the only pain clinic in India which has received ‘Best Pain Clinic’ award by Indian Society for Study of Pain. Daradia also received ‘Excellence in Pain Practice’ award by World Institute of Pain (WIP). Daradia had been scientific partners in many international conferences and training programs in India and abroad. Dr Das was the chairman of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Iran Chapter of WIP from 2007 to 2013. He is a guest faculty at many universities in India and abroad. He has been examiner of FIPP examination several times at USA and Netherlands. He is the author of books Clinical Methods in Pain Medicine, 2/e, How to Start and Run a Pain Clinic and Common Pain Management Procedures.
