The book "Textbook on Medical Surgical Nursing" for B.Sc. students, we were persuaded by our colleges and nursing teachers to write a book on the same subject for Diploma in GNM. On being convinced, we wrote this book in simple and understandable language according to the prescribed course by Nursing Council of India. The book runs in XXV units each unit has been illustrated and written in brief so as to make the subject understandable to nursing students. The nursing processes, diagnosis and management have been discussed with each subjects. The role of the nurse and nursing responsibilities have been highlighted. The treatment is written in short.The nursing care models and nursing care plans are main themes in nursing processes. Nursing plans of various diseases, surgery, post surgery, diagnostic procedures, etc. have also been discussed with nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis.
