In addition, the common basic laparoscopic procedures which include simple nephrectomy, pyeloplasty and adrenalectomy are discussed in a step-by-step fashion.

Arvind P Ganpule MS (surgery), DNB (urology), MNAMS is currently Vice Chairman, Department of Urology, and Chief, Division of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital (MPUH), Nadiad, Gujarat. He is a postgraduate guide for urology trainees at MPUH .
He is on the editorial board of Indian Journal of Urology (IJU), Journal of Minimal Access Surgery (JMAS) and World Journal of Urology (WJU). He was named the “best national reviewer” for the IJU and the Endourology Society (engineering section) in 2012 and 2015. Dr Ganpule is a recipient of the prestigious MIUC scholarship of the Urological Society of India. He has also received the F1000 AFM travel award and grant (for excellent postpublication reviews) consecutively for three years (2012–14). He was named the AUA-USI (Chakravortty Fellowship) scholar for year 2012. He is conducting a AUA instructional course on laparoscopic donor nephrectomy for consecutively three years.
Dr Ganpule has 135 pubmed indexed publications to his credit in reputed peerreviewed national and international journals. In addition, he has authored 25 book chapters and edited two books. He was a lead investigator in the largest epidemiological study in India, investigating the natural history of BPH in Western India. He has innovated a novel low-cost retrieval bag in laparoscopy (known as the Nadiad bag). He was involved with the team at MPUH in developing the MicroPerc System with PolyDiagnost.
