Description
Scitus Academics Pneumatic Flow Mixing Method by Galen Wayne
A pneumatic flow mixing method has been developed for sea reclamation and land development, in which dredged clay is mixed with a relatively small amount of cement in a transporting pipe. The soil mixture forms several separated mud-plugs in the pipe, and is thoroughly mixed by means of turbulent flow during the transporting. The mixture, transported and deposited at the reclamation site, rapidly gains relatively large strength, with the purpose of no additional soil improvement is usually required. This method is expected to be applied effectively to future land development projects in coastal areas.
The book offers the state of the art in the pneumatic flow mixing method, and discusses modern technologies, research results and expertise in machinery, design, assurance and construction technology. Numerous admixture stabilization techniques with distinctive emphasis on the pneumatic flow mixing method are highlighted. Basic improvement mechanisms of cement stabilization and the effect of several factors on improvement consequence with experimental suggestions are elaborated.
