    Description

Wiley India Principles And Practice Of Ground Improvement by Jie Han

The proposed book focuses on the principles and design of ground improvement technologies. This book is written by an author with extensive teaching, research, and consulting experience in ground improvement. It covers both theoretical and practical aspects in the design and construction of a variety of ground improvement technologies commonly used in practice. This book includes detailed design procedures for most of the ground improvement methods, which enable their easy implementation in practice. This book can be used as a textbook for upper-level undergraduate and graduate students and a reference book for researchers and practicing engineers. It can also be used a guide for contractors and installers to implement ground improvement technologies in field. Design examples and problems for homework are provided. About the Author Dr. Jie Han is a professor of Geotechnical Engineering at Department of Civil, Environmental, & Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas. His research has focused on geosynthetics, earth-retaining structures, ground improvement, pile foundations, and pavement design. He has published nearly 200 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Han is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and a member of a number of technical committees and editorial boards, and was the technical program and proceedings co-chair for the Geo-Frontiers 2011 with 1,921 participants and the secretary general and technical program co-chair for the GeoShanghai International Conference 2006.
