Description
Arya Publications Textbook of Haematology 2017 Edition by Tejinder Singh
It is always a pleasure to release a latest edition of a book that has enjoyed considerable popularity among MBBS students and, I am told by more than a few, even higher level learners as a basic text on haematology. It is with great happiness yet mixed with a rapidly changing and any MBBS textbook must strike a fine balance between covering the entire syllabus requirements during the pathology course, yet exposing bright young minds to new developments in the field and encouraging them to explore further.Towards this end, this latest edition incorportes several significant hanges. Most noticeable will be the photographs, many of which are new and many others are replacements for older ones. Each disease entity has been thoroughly reviewed to include information as well as numerous illustrations of flow cytometric immunophenotypic finding along with cytogenetic and molecular genetic studies The emphasis on morphology and cytochemistry as the basic steps with which to approach these lesions however stays intact, forming as they do the bulk of diagnostic hematology work in most teaching centres.A new "Point to remeber" section at the end of each chapter summarizes the salient takehome messages that are important from an exam point of view. All flow charts and algorithms have also been reviewed to include the latest information, and several new one have also been added. These should continue to make this a valuable resource for MBBS students and equip them with a broad overview of haematology that serves them well in whichever discipline they specialize in subsequently.
