The first part of the book covers general virology in a concise manner with the hope that reader appreciates the nature of viruses, their pathogenicity and replicationof viruses etc. In second part, information on infections of vertebrates has been given with emphasis on diagnosis and preventive aspects of virus infections of domestic animals and poultry. Viruses of little or no pathogenic importance has been omitted while greater importance has been given to viruses of economic importance int eh developing countries of Asia and Africa. The book is intended to fulfill the needs of undergraduate veterinary students in general and post-gaduate students in microbiology in particular, besides the Veterinary disease investigators and practioners of veterinary medicine.
