This book, in second edition, covers growth from intrauterine period to adolescence with reference to affluent Indian children. These data are used to develop growth curves-height, weight, head circumference, body mass index and skin fold thickness in relation to age. Tables are prepared for these parameters in relation to sexual development also. In the second edition chapter on growth now includes brain growth also; knowledge on adolescence growth and development is expanded to include variations during puberty. A chapter on obesity is introduced to understand and manage it. Short and tall stature are discussed. CDC-NCHS data are compared; the newer WHO April curves 2006 are included in discussion. In Appendices, construction of growth curves is discussed along with tables of CDC data and Indian affluent data; the new WHO growth curves are added.
